National Seminar-2007

This year again SCIT's quest was to see what is changing in the IT scenario.  The annual National Seminar was thus on "The State of IT 2007".  The seminar has range of topics and the eminent speakers made it a seminar worthy of the wait.

Mr. Rajesh K. Bhatt of IBM spoke on how India is very much on the global IT map and the growth of the IT services industry in India . He also indicated that future services will involve significant use of RFID.

"Innovation in IT" was the main focus of the renowned speaker Mr. Arun Bahulkar of TCS. He used case study and explained Model-driven development, feature model, domain-specific software factory, information extraction and SAAS.  Mr. Shankar Kalyane Sundaram of Wipro also chose to speak on innovation in IT and Strategic leaps to improve service.

Satyam's Mr. Vilas Kanyal's lucid talk on "IT the Strategic Way" was an excellent view on  how globalization is affecting the world.  Mr. Nadkarni of ThoughtWorks gave an interesting aspect on  India in global IT.

Mr. Rego of MSC Software made the entire audience really respond through his humourous but straight talk how to use the Indian talent and compete on the global map.

The most advantageous position was those of the SCIT students. They learnt what they could not have in classrooms.  The auditorium was jam packed and overflowing-- a sign of a overwhelming success!
