Dear Alumnus,

We are happy to present to you the second SCITIZEN for the academic year 2007-2009. Many events took place in the campus like 100 % placements was achieved, Festive celebrations, Knowledge quenching seminars. Before we start we would like to tell you something.

We received many emails showing that there is distress about not able to log into the alumni portal. We are working on updating the alumni portal and soon you may be able to log into the portal. Till then we request you for your help and support. Please update your details with us by mailing it at alumni@scit.edu. We are also planning for “Pratidhwani”, the alumni meet this year .Your suggestions are invited.

SCIT always in search to quench its thirst for knowledge organized a one day national seminar on “Software Product Development Challenges and Issues” on January 19, 2008. Eminent speakers from Persistent, Digite, Compulink, SAS, Consumer Vision Technology came to share their thought with the students. It was a one day event where student got to learn about the current trends on software development and the concept of SAAS (software as a service).

SIC celebrates Pongal and Sankranti
SIC celebrated Pongal and Makar Sankranti in the true spirit. Special food was prepared in the mess.  Rangoli  competition was organized. Kite festival made the sky colorful.

SCIT Excelled
SCIT students excelled in different business competition where it participated in and outside Pune

  • Vandita Malhotra, Binay Raina, Gagan Paliwal, Punit Rastogi and R. Ramkrishnan were the winners of Management Games competition in PUMBA
  • Jaywant Jadhav won the treasure hunt at IBS Pune
  • Krishnan Das and Phani Vijay won paper presentation competition at Kohinoor Business School

Maintaining its tradition of continuous knowledge building SCIT has been conducting guest lectures and seminars regularly. The campus has been visited by top notch personalities of the IT industry. Some of these were:-

100% Placement Achieved
SCIT achieved a 100% placement for the batch 2006-08. Companies who offered jobs were from different industries.

Corporate partnership
BMC initiated one activity under “University Partnership Program” at SCIT. They conducted Lectures on current trends

Summer Interns Started
Summer internship for the batch 2007-09 has started. Internship starts from 15th of April 2008 .This time SCIT has 192 students from five streams.
