Q. How do I get an admission
in SCIT?
A. T o be eligible for SCIT admissions, you need to be a
graduate in any stream with minimum 50% marks in your qualifying
exam. You would then be required to go through a 4-tier, all-India

Q. What is the pattern of the written
test for admission?
A. The written test is known as the Symbiosis
National Aptitude (SNAP) Test conducted in
December every year. The test is a Multiple Choice Question
Paper comprising questions on Analytical and Logical Thinking,
Mathematical Reasoning, English, Data Interpretation and a
set of questions related to your choice of specialization.
Q. Does the institute provide placement and internships
to students?
A. SCIT's placement record for the past six years has been
exemplary, even during the economic slowdown of 2001-2002.
Even during internship, our students have delivered well in
revenue earning projects. Our recruiters include giants like
Wipro, TCS, MBT, IBM and many more.
Q. Do all students get hostel facilities?
A. MBA is a residential 2-year postgraduate
programme. Students get to stay in a
5 - acre campus in the Pune Infotech Park, which houses a swimming pool, cafeteria,
mess, gymnasium, health center, general store and beautifully landscaped lawns.
The SCIT campus provides a highly conducive and stimulating environment to
all its students.
Q. Is there any transport facility provided?
A. Since this is a residential programme,
care is taken to provide all amenities and facilities on campus.
Besides this, there are shuttle services from the campus to
the city at regular intervals that carry students to and fro
from early morning till late in the night.
Q. Is the MBA recognized by AICTE?
A. MBA is a postgraduate diploma in management recognized
by AICTE. In addition, NAAC, the premier government accreditation
body set up by UGC has assessed and accredited SCIT with a
B+ grade.
Q. What are the eligibility criteria for the MBA
programme?
A. Graduates with minimum 50% marks from any recognized university
are eligible to admission in SCIT's MBA. Candidates are required
to be conversant in IT for all specializations. For some specializations,
a degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer
applications or information technology is preferred. For more

Q. What is the format of the SNAP Test?
A. The SNAP test is similar to any other
postgraduate management entrance test. The test is of an objective
type. Each wrong answer attracts 25% negative marks. For further

Q. On what parameters are candidates short-listed?
A. SCIT uses the SNAP score as one of the inputs for short-listing
candidates for further processing. Other parameters considered
are academic performance, qualification and work experience
if any.
Q. What is the difference between the MBA programmes
and MCA?
A. The MBA programme
is a 2-year residential Post Graduate Diploma in Management
covering domains like Software Development & Management, Networks & IT
Infrastructure, Systems, Software Systems and Security & IT
Business Management.
MBA (Software Development & Management) programme may
be compared to MCA. MCA is a 3-year course, Masters in Computer
