Every year, the fresh batch undergoes an orientation and 'Leveling Programme' on campus. In an effort to familiarize students with the IT sector, IT Business and the IT Application side of it, SCIT lines up a series of guest lectures for them. These lectures provides them a platform to gain insights into various career tracks, growth potential and job content evolving in the IT sector.

In academia, these lectures are looked upon as a basic motivational tool for freshers to embark on careers in IT. Also, these 3 weeks are essentially utilized to homogenize the students with the concepts of each specialization they will embark upon. Various preparatory lectures on the fundamentals of IT, computer basics, IT business and business communication are taken.

One-on-one counseling sessions, group interaction, team building are all fostered during these 3 weeks. Freshers undergo workshops on paradigm shift from an exam-orientation to learning orientation and the seeds of holistic development are sown with 'Art of Living Sessions' and 'Meditation' incorporated in their Leveling Programme.
