SCIT faculty members and students are currently working on the following research areas:

Directory enabled network services
The research primarily deals with the study of suitability of LDAP for directory-enabled network services and development of schemas and tools for implementation and administration of such network services. Currently, work is progressing on services such as messaging and AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting)

Policy based network management
The Policy-based Network Management project focuses on conceptualizing and developing a framework for managing various network services such as bandwidth managers, firewalls etc. Work is progressing in the development of LDAP schemas and policy management tools for bandwidth management. Accounting and Auditing are two other areas that will be targeted in the area.

Smart Email Management
This area explores the use of machine learning algorithms for applications to email management - filtering, foldering, spam detection etc. Currently, work is in progress for evaluating machine learning algorithms for suitability to email foldering. The second project in progress is 'Email Merge' tool.
