EVENTS @SCIT

The spirit of Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Symbiosis Infotech Campus on 15 August 2026, as SIIB, along with SCMHRD and SCIT, came together to mark India’s 80th Independence Day. The morning commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr. Alka Maurya, Director, SIIB, in the presence of Dr. Akhil Damodaran, Director, SCMHRD; Dr. Dhanya Pramod, Director, SCIT; and Col. SK Mishra, Campus Administrator, SIC. The ceremony continued with Vande Mataram, the National Anthem, a Anti-Drug Pledge and the Maharashtra State Song, setting a proud and reflective tone for the day.

The celebration then moved to the Atrium, where a pre-recorded message by Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, Chancellor, SIU, conveyed his warm wishes to everyone on the occasion of Independence Day. Dr. Alka Maurya delivered the opening address, followed by an inspiring speech by Col. SK Mishra on patriotism and sacrifice. A special moment of the programme was the Staff Award for Excellence, honouring the dedicated staff and workers from the three institutes whose efforts keep the campus running smoothly. The recognition was a heartfelt tribute to those who often work behind the scenes.

The cultural programme brought the celebration to life with an energetic dance performance by SIIB students, followed by the impactful skit based on the Nasha Mukti theme. The performance delivered a strong message about substance abuse and the battles that may remain unseen. The patriotic spirit continued with soulful singing performances. The event concluded on a warm and joyful note with the Directors distributing snacks to children, symbolising hope and the promise of a brighter future. The celebration beautifully brought together patriotism, gratitude, awareness and unity, making the day memorable for the entire SIC community.
