An Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Workshop was conducted on 13th January at Symbiosis centre for information technology. The session was delivered by Dr. Anand Shindikar, Associate Professor and Head of the Intellectual Property Cell at the Symbiosis Centre for Research and Innovation, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune. The workshop aimed to create awareness about intellectual property rights and their importance in protecting research and innovation.

Dr. Shindikar discussed the fundamentals of intellectual property, including patents, copyrights, and trademarks, along with an overview of the patent filing process in India. Practical insights and real-life examples helped participants understand the application of IPR in academic and professional settings.

The workshop enhanced participants understanding of safeguarding original ideas and research outcomes and encouraged an innovation-driven approach. Overall, the session was informative and beneficial, contributing to increased awareness of intellectual property rights within the institution.
