In order to take admission in SCIT, you need to fill the SNAP test form as well as SCIT form which you will get online. For MBA(DS&DA) students should have Mathematics Subject compulsory in 12th standard.

Are there any reservation seats for students in SCIT?
There are reservations for students at SCIT Reservation :SC : 15%, ST : 7.5%, Differently Abled : 3% Over and Above Total Intake children of migrants from Jammu and Kashmir valley, 15% seats for International Students
What is the fees for both programmes MBA(DS&DA) and MBA(ITBM)
The total fees for MBA-ITBM and MBA(DS&DA) is the same, it is around 11.85 lacs.
What is the difference between the data science specialization and MBA(DS&DA)
MBA(ITBM) and MBA(DS&DA) are both two year full time residential courses. SNAP test is a mandate to take admission for both the courses. In MBA(ITBM) you get to choose your specialisations among any of the five choices i.e Information security management, systems, Software solutions management, IT infrastructure management, Data science. In Data Science elective we cover various subjects which include Multivariate Data Analysis, Data Management, Predictive analysis, data mining, social media analysis and a lot more, on higher level along with core management subjects. In MBA(DS&DA) students will gain analytics competencies and use hands on tools in data sciences thereby preparing them for business and techno-functional roles in data sciences and analytics projects. Core Subjects covered will include Data preparation and Data management, Network Security, Data Mining, Programming for Data Sciences, Domain Study(Manufacturing & Logistics), Strategic Management, Predictive Analytics, Advance data organization, Operation Research, Advance Statistics and a lot more. The electives will include Big data Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Advance R programming and more, focusing on in-depth knowledge and understanding of Data Science.
Will the jobs offered after MBA(DS&DA) be in the IT domain only?

What is the process for admissions in MBA(DS&DA)?
The student has to appear for the SNAP exam after which students will be short-listed and called for GE-PIWAT. The students clearing GE-PIWAT will be selected to join the batch of SCIT 17-19.
Any certification will be covered Apart from MBA(DS&DA) degree?
No certification are conducted separately, but you will learn tools such as Python, Hadoop, R, Tableau, IBM Watson and more as apart of the MBA(DS&DA) programme.
If I apply for MBA (ITBM) and MBA (DS&DA) will there be separate GE-PIWAT process for both
Yes once you are short-listed based on your SNAP score you will undergo two separate rounds of GE-PIWAT and the scores of GE-PIWAT and SNAP will be used to short-list candidates in both the merit lists.
How many General seats are there for MBA (DS&DA)?
Out of 30 seats for MBA (DS&DA) 22 seats are for general category.
In MBA (DS&DA) will there be general MBA subjects or only domain specific subjects?
MBA (DS&DA) aims at preparing the students for business and techno-functional role therefore a blend of general and domain specific subjects is important. In MBA (DS&DA) subjects like Financial Management, Essentials of Marketing Management, Principles and practices of Management, Managerial Economics, Strategic Human Resource management and Corporate Governance and Ethics are also included in the curriculum.
What is the Programme Pattern for MBA (DS&DA)?
MBA (DS&DA) is a two year course with a total of 4 semesters and industry intern-ship after the first year.
Is it necessary to have a technical background to opt for MBA (DS&DA)?
No, graduate from any faculty can opt for MBA(DS&DA) as long as he has taken Mathematics in 12th Standard.
