Symbiosis Centre for Information Technology (SCIT) in the academic year 2017, launched a new course -MBA in Data Sciences & Data Analytics (DS&DA), for gaining competencies in analytics and better data insights using scientific methods for futuristic Data Scientist/Data Analyst. In order to have a fruitful engagement of our MBA (DS&DA) students with external experts -both from Industry and Academia, there was a need to build a platform which can facilitates in the dissemination of evolving knowledge related to Data Science and Data Analytics as well as Student-Expert interactions.

The platform was visualized as a Flagship Event, “DATTANSH- An Annual Analytics Conclave”. This flagship event was conceptualized by our Director Ma’am, Dr Dhanya Parmod. Dattansh (दत्तांश) is a Sanskrit word that means Data/Information.

Dattansh provides a forum for participants to gain an expert perspective on the exciting world of data sciences and data analytics. The emphasis is on the trending and upcoming technologies & applications in this domain. The event includes the top-notch speakers from Industry, Academia and Research labs. Student Competitions are also organized for students in India and abroad.

Dattansh is organized every year and to keep up with the rapid evolution in the field of data sciences and analytics, new theme is selected every year. The MBA(DS&DA) Guest Lecture committee under guidance of a Faculty Mentor- plan, prepare and execute, the new edition of Dattansh every year. The types of speaker’s selected and the student’s competitions are well tuned with the theme. The learning is the journey of data in real-life reinforced through industrial use cases and innovative competitions.
