SCIT motivates faculty members and students to get engaged in rigorous research activities at various levels. The academic fraternity of SCIT believes in continuous enhancement of research capabilities by espousing intensive academic scrutiny and extensive collaboration. Monthly research seminars, receiving research grants, taking up research projects with organizations, regular publication in journals of repute are few activities that showcase SCIT's research orientation.

The faculty members work individually as well as with industry experts, consultants, practitioners and students to initiate, conduct research and publish papers with the unanimous goal of bridging the gap between concepts (theory) and contexts (practice). SCIT Journal (ISSN: 0974-5076), SCIT Monograph Series and Navankur (newsletter) stand testimony to the research rigour.
